Ethiopian Airlines Hits $9.1 Billion Revenue Despite Middle East Conflict and Ebola Disruptions

Ethiopian Airlines generated $9.1 billion in revenue during the 2025/26 financial year, reinforcing its position as Africa’s largest airline.

Ethiopian Airlines increased annual revenue by 20% to $9.1 billion in the 2025/26 financial year, delivering record results despite operational disruptions caused by conflict in the Middle East and the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The carrier transported 20.7 million passengers during the year, while its cargo business also recorded double-digit growth, further strengthening its position as Africa's largest airline.

Despite geopolitical and public health challenges affecting parts of its network, Ethiopian Airlines continued expanding its operations and is preparing new aircraft orders to support future growth. The performance reinforces the airline's role as a key driver of African connectivity, linking the continent to major global markets through its growing passenger and cargo network.
